Aviation Headset Solutions: One Product Family for the Whole Airfield

A fixed-wing student pilot, a helicopter crew chief and a ground marshal work fifty metres apart on the same airfield — and they face three different noise problems. Cockpit engine and rotor noise routinely exceeds 100 dB. Communication with ATC and crew must stay error-free. And after five or six hours of wear, a heavy headset becomes its own hazard: head pressure, ear fatigue, distracted pilots.

Most teams solve this by buying three unrelated headsets from three suppliers. Flight schools and regional operators end up managing multiple models, spare-part lines and connector standards — procurement cost and inventory pressure grow with every aircraft type added.

Power-Time built the AG series around a different idea: one product family, engineered for each role on the airfield — fixed-wing pilots, helicopter pilots and ground crew.

AG series aviation headsets: carbon fiber pilot headsets for fixed-wing, helicopter and ground crew

1. Fixed-wing pilots: the AG-1, built around all-day comfort

General aviation and flight training mean long cruise hours. The AG-1 Ultra-Light Carbon Fiber Aviation Headset addresses the two complaints pilots raise most: weight and clamping force.

Carbon fiber ear cups cut overall weight far below conventional plastic or metal designs, and thick memory-foam ear seals with a cushioned head pad spread pressure evenly. Noise reduction is rated at 25 dB (ANSI S3.19-1974 certified) — enough to protect hearing and keep ATC transmissions clear on a full training day. A hybrid ear-tip design is easily replaceable, which matters when one headset is issued to a rotation of students.

2. Helicopter pilots: the AG-2, tuned for rotor noise

Helicopter cockpits generate a different noise signature — continuous low-frequency rotor noise that passive protection must handle all mission long. The AG-2 Carbon Fiber Pilot Headset delivers 28 dB noise reduction optimized for exactly that low-frequency range.

The flexible boom microphone carries wind-noise protection, so voice transmission to ATC and crew stays clean even in turbulent conditions. It connects through a U-174/U single plug — the standard helicopter connector — while the AG-1 uses the dual-plug GA standard. That is the point of the family: the right connector for the right aircraft, without sourcing from separate suppliers.

3. Ground crew: the AG-11BD, made for the ramp

Marshals and ramp teams work beside running turbines all shift, and they do not stay at one aircraft. The AG-11BD Over-Head Noise-Cancelling Headset provides 28 dB passive noise reduction with a fully adjustable over-head band that distributes weight evenly through long shifts.

Its defining feature is the quick-release, detachable PTT cable: crews move between vehicles and radios without removing the headset, and a damaged cable is replaced in seconds instead of taking the whole unit out of service. Multiple cable configurations support different radio systems across the ramp.

Aviation-grade durability, plus customization

Across the family, structure, cables and accessories are engineered to aviation standards — vibration resistance and wide temperature tolerance for turbulence and cockpit temperature swings. AG series aviation headset construction details and customization options

Customization is available for flight academies, general aviation operators and airport ground services: custom cables, audio tuning and configuration adjustments for specific aircraft and radio combinations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is OEM and customization available?
Yes. Custom cable and audio tuning are supported for OEM projects, alongside configuration adjustments for specific aircraft and radio combinations.

What is your noise reduction solution?
Passive noise cancellation, optimized for engine and rotor low-frequency noise — 25 dB on the AG-1 and 28 dB on the AG-2 and AG-11BD.

What about samples and lead time?
Samples are available for evaluation. Standard samples ship in 3–7 working days.

Can one supplier cover fixed-wing, helicopter and ground crews?
Yes. The AG series was designed as one family for all three roles, which simplifies procurement, training and spare-parts management.
